Nickel plated steel frame with inset round aperture. Peripheral apertures not grooved so cannot be glazed.
Lenses have negative power back and front surfaces, but have no overall power. Not ‘size’ lenses as image seen through the lenses appears identical to that seen without.
Suggestions welcomed

Painted wood and perspex eye model, not intended to come apart. Educational model.

Any offers for date or manufacturer?

Any suggestions for country of manufacture? Germany and Italy have been suggested but please let us have your thoughts

Did you prescribe this frame?

One for the not-so-young as we believe this to be approximately 80 years old. Small frame for baby or very young child with a secondary bridge fitted with a ‘roller’. Glazed with laminated safety lenses. Only markings are 1/10-10 on each side. Can you please help us out by emailing or writing to the the Chairman or the Journal Editor

Something very different:
Acquired by a museum ‘from one of the older university optometry departments’. It came with a number of other special purpose items including trigeminal goggles, hemianopia spectacles, a surgical ‘anti-misting’ spectacles. Could it be for a very specific facial shape or was it purely experimental. Please let us know.

Most unusual… and any information welcomed:
Possibly made from bone, it measures 75mm by 115mm with the distance between the lenses being 45mm.
The lens power is approx -0.50 to -1.00 dioptres
It has already been described as ‘Catholic Collectible’ due to the central ‘Papal Cross’
Fluted handle suggests it was designed to be hand held.

From when does the Liebold Type Bridge date please?
(this particular frame is a blued steel Elkington pattern pantoscopic eye with angled sides)
